SACRAMENTO, (Oct. 28) – The Western Propane Gas Association (WPGA), a leading association for propane gas use, has named Joy Alafia to serve as the organization’s President and CEO.
As former director of business products with the California Association of REALTORS®, Joy has spent much of her career in association management encompassing governance, program management, membership development, public relations and marketing. She will be charged with furthering the organizations’ initiatives as it relates to alternative auto fuels (autogas), individual consumer markets, agricultural and commercial use, and propane safety.
“WPGA is excited to have Joy join our Association as President and CEO. Joy brings to us proven leadership skills along with an energetic charisma that is sure to promote our industry and take on the challenges that WPGA faces on a daily basis,” shared WPGA Board Chairman, Bruce Thompson.
“I’m thrilled to join WPGA because of their leadership position in clean fuel alternative markets. We are in the midst of energy and climate challenges and with these challenges come opportunities. I look forward to working with the membership to define strategies to grow the propane gas industry as well as increase our membership,” said Joy Alafia. Prior to organizational management, Alafia served as an application engineer and later a product manager for the laser manufacturing company Melles Griot (now CVI Melles Griot).
